The bark beetle Phloeocleptus caudatus Wood, 1956 (Curculionidae: Scolytinae), was collected in the state of Hidalgo in the hemiparasitic plant Struthanthus deppeanus (Schldt. & Cham.) Blume. This represents a new host and new geographical distribution record for this beetle.
