The CFD simulation of an axial flow fan

[摘要] ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The purpose of this project is to investigate the method and accuracy of simulatingaxialow fans with three-dimensional axisymmetric CFD models. Twomodels are evaluated and compared with experimental fan data. Veri cationdata is obtained from a prototype fan tested in a facility conforming to the BS848 standards. Theoweld over the blade surfaces is investigated furtherwith a visualization experiment comprising of a stroboscope and wool tufts.Good correlation is found at medium to highow rates and recommendationsare made for simulation at lowerow rates as well as test guidelines at the fantest facility. The results and knowledge gained will be used to amend currentlyused actuator disc theory for axialow fan simulation.
