Cultural factors influencing the management of HIV/AIDS in patients on anti-retroviral therapy in Ekurhuleni North Gauteng

[摘要] ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The aim of the study was to identify cultural factors influencing the management of HIV/AIDS patients in order to raise awareness and improve management of patients within the community of Ekurhuleni North in Gauteng. A qualitative study was conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire and 60 patients from Dan Kubheka Clinic in Ekurhuleni were interviewed. The findings of the study revealed that there are cultural factors that influence the management of patients on ART and that such factors do have an impact on the management of patients.
