The knowledge of school managers using key elements of an HIV and AIDS workplace policy at Shatale circuit in the Mpumalanga Province
[摘要] ENGLISH ABSTRACT:The aim of this project is to establish whether the school managers of schools atShatale circuit in Mpumalanga have knowledge of the ten key elements or principles ofILO code of good practice on aspects of HIV/AIDS.The research study aimed at the school managers such as Principals of schools,Deputy Principals and Head of Departments. The study indicated that most schoolmanagers know the most but not all of the key elements as they agree to application ofthem in their HIV/AIDS policy.The findings of the research indicated that all the schools have HIV/AIDS policy in theirschool and there are schools that developed their own HIV/AIDS policy and those thatused HIV/AIDS pro format disc to create their HIV/AIDS policy. The schools thatdeveloped their school HIV/AIDS not from Department policy Pro format show thatsome of the Key elements are not applicable in their HIV/AIDS policy as well as legalframe work to enforce the rights of PLWHA. School that used Department policy proformat have the entire ten key elements and where the schools should show theirknowledge of the legal framework, the school wrote statement that are not relevant.The study recommends the use of Legislations and Act to make the school HIV/AIDSpolicy a tool that can be used to press charges against any person who ignore the tenkey principles of the workplace HIV/AIDS policy.
