A study of right ventricular function during one lung anesthesia
[摘要] ENGLISH ABSTRACT: A significant decrease in lung volume is reported to occur in the dependent lung during OLA in the LDP.This decrease in lung volume can result in an acute increase in opposition to RV ejection. The potentialproblem is that the right ventricle is a thin walled structure that can generate considerably less work thanthe thicker walled LV. It possesses little reserve to deal with an acute rise in afterload as may occur duringacute lung injury or after lung resection. Therefore, this increase in afterload during OLA may potentiallyimpair RV-PA coupling. Albeit this potential problem exists, the changes in RV afterload and how the rightventricle performs during OLA have not been well studied.Arterial hypoxemia, due mainly to venous blood being shunted via the non-ventilated lung, may present a clinical problem during one lung ventilation.
