Leadership initiatives and structure by the Church of Norway, within Norway, pertaining to HIV/AIDS

[摘要] ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Through the history mankind, the church has been recognised as one of the mostinfluential forces and Christianity has placed high value on supporting vulnerableindividuals and groups.In the past, HIV had been a subject approached with great scepticism within thechurch as it was at first believed to be a virus spread through immoral acts related tosodomy and homosexuality. (Pisani, 2008).A taboo subject to address within the morality of the church and Christianity.The national church of Norway has however attempted to provide formalizedmethods of leadership pertaining to HIV on national and international levels since theearly 1980s.During this study the author evaluated the perceived success of its leadership withinthe context of Norway and attempted to identify areas where the national churchcould be more attentive and invest more resources in developing leadership relatingto HIV/AIDS.
