[摘要] ENGLISH SUMMARY: The aim of the study was to obtain a profile of juvenilerapists.A review of the literature concerning juvenile delinquency,the juvenile delinquent, rape and the rapist was undertaken.Emphasis was placed on a few factors which correlate withjuvenile delinquency: gender, the family as factor,morality, social factors and scholastic factors. Factorswhich could contribute to rape were investigated.and characteristics of the rapist, as well asrapists were researched.The agetypes ofA biographical study which included twenty-four subjects wasundertaken. Comprehensive reports drawn up by socialworkers, school psychologists and Magistrates courts wereused to comply information.Findings from the literature indicated that rapists aremostly below the age of 20 years. Findings from availablebiographical sources indicated that the subjects in thisstudy were mostly below the age of 16 years. Findings fromthe literature indicated that the social, socio-economical,educational and psychological dimensions of rapists are inmany ways adverse and defective. Indications from thefindings of the biographical study were that the subjectsfunction against the background of a low educational level (standard 1), poor socio-economic and social conditions(poverty, alcohol abuse and drug abuse), disfunctional familyfunctioning and the identification with friends who maintainsocially unacceptable behaviour (criminal activities, drugabuse and absence from school).This study is descriptive, rather than explanatory. Infuture research attention could be given to the developmentalhistory and personality dynamics of juvenile rapists.
