Battling bards, choosing chocolates

[摘要] For many Welsh speakers, late summer is not a time for languishing idly in the sun or genteel pottering in the garden, but a time to throw themselves into a week-long celebration of Welsh culture at the National Eisteddfod. This festival takes place every year in August and attracts about a 150 000 visitors, visitors of all ages and embracing all facets of contemporary Welsh-speaking life, from up-all-night clubbers to sober, Horlicks-drinking, non-conformist ministers. It is a kind of Edinburgh, Glyndebourne and Glastonbury rolled into one bustling event.
