Therole of laparoscopy in colorectal diseases is still expanding. The method isaccurate and safe in a variety of diseases. However, the applicability of thisprocedure for the treatment of chagasic megacolon still raises doubts concerningthe best operative technique and its outcomes. This uncertainties come bothfrom the lack of studies about this subject and the absence of a uniformly performedsurgical technique even during conventional surgery. In this paper we presentour surgical tactic and a review of the current literature about the laparoscopicmanagement of chagasic megacolon.
