The norms of FederalCouncil of Medicine set down that the doctor cannot stop filling out the medicalhandbook correctly. That observance is fundamental, because being the servicerendered the patient an action to multi-discipline, all involved they will bethem informed about the clinical conditions, evolution, results of exams andprocedures accomplished in the patients. Under the legal point of view it isa precious instrument, maybe the most important, in judicial demands, becauseit is starting from his/her analysis that the experts and judges pick subsidiesfor the judicial decision. Under the point of view of public health they arein the medical handbooks that the data live, al1owing the data of prevalencesand of incidences certain diseases, allowing like this, prevention actions andmore effective treatment measures. This work has as objective emphasizes theimportance of the execution of the norms and of the correct completion of themedical handbook, emphasizing their forensic implications, main in the colonrectal surgery practice. Such practices not only they represent the qualityof the professional work, but they allow to the doctors disposal of an importantdefense instrument in the lawsuits.
