The Society for Advanced Bronchoscopy: An Introduction

[摘要] The invention of flexible bronchoscopy has revolutionized the field of pulmonary diagnostics. The procedure of bronchoscopy has evolved significantly over the past half-century. Current advanced bronchoscopic technology allows us to look beyond the endobronchial tree and into the mediastinum, by endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy, as well as the alveoli, by confocal microscopy.^1,2 We are able to navigate to peripheral nodules using virtual reconstructions and gain direct vision of distal airways through state-of-the-art robotics.
