THE CLINIC

[摘要] I saw an interesting case in clinic. All patients are interesting I said to the young cynic. It was a case of lymphangioleiomyomatosis. I saw a man with COPD and halitosis. It also had pulmonary arterial hypertension. He sat dishevelled full of apprehension. I did bloods, RFTs, echo, cath and HRCT. We sat and listened and talked and he felt guilty. Lots of consults, work-ups, bilateral pneumothoraces. Struggling for breath, scared of false sympathies. It was quite a case – I might get a publication. Cigarettes have done their deed, he now lives in social isolation.
