Rebuttal From Drs Barrecheguren and Miravitlles
[摘要] Among their arguments in favor of the use of long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA)/long-acting β2-agonist (LABA) as initial maintenance therapy in COPD, Cazzola and Matera elegantly describe the strong pathophysiologic and pharmacologic reasons to prescribe the combination, which we fully agree with.1 However, we disagree about their interpretation of the clinical evidence for the preference of LAMA/LABA vs monotherapies in all patients with COPD. They mention that all LAMA/LABAs are always more effective than LAMAs or LABAs in improving lung function, symptoms, and exercise capacity.
