Rebuttal From Drs Barrecheguren and Miravitlles

[摘要] Among their arguments in favor of the use of long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA)/long-acting β₂-agonist (LABA) as initial maintenance therapy in COPD, Cazzola and Matera elegantly describe the strong pathophysiologic and pharmacologic reasons to prescribe the combination, which we fully agree with.¹ However, we disagree about their interpretation of the clinical evidence for the preference of LAMA/LABA vs monotherapies in all patients with COPD. They mention that all LAMA/LABAs are always more effective than LAMAs or LABAs in improving lung function, symptoms, and exercise capacity.
