[摘要] There are rare cases in medicine where having less knowledge about a patient’s condition leads to better clinical decision making. The question we face is not whether we should empower ourselves with that knowledge but, rather, whether the costs of obtaining such insight are justified. There are clear downsides to obtaining a CT scan in a patient with COPD. Things are found such as benign lung nodules that are may be best not discovered. There are also valid critiques of the clinical utility of data obtained from CT scan.
