[摘要] As is often the case with debates, we have far more in common than that dividing us. I must agree with Dr Washko¹ that in select patients, such as those suffering from very frequent exacerbations, imaging evaluation can aid with the differential diagnosis and may uncover bronchiectasis or evidence of infection that might alter treatment. Patients with severe disease may also benefit from chest CT imaging in order to be evaluated for lung volume reduction surgery or even bronchoscopic lung volume reduction through the placement of endobronchial valves, with at least one such technology having recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in the United States.
