A Young Adult Male Presenting Posttrauma With Hypotension Despite Fluid Resuscitation

[摘要] A young adult male with unremarkable medical history was brought to the ED after involvement in a head-on motor vehicle collision at approximately 50 mph. The workup revealed several injuries, including a small left pneumothorax, a moderate right hemopneumothorax with bilateral pulmonary contusions, a thoracic aortic injury just distal to the left subclavian artery takeoff, a hemoperitoneum with liver laceration, multiple pelvic and spinal fractures, and a right femur fracture. A chest tube was placed, and the patient was taken to the operating room for exploratory laparotomy.
