Management of Dyspnea in the Noncommunicative Patients: Consider Hetero-evaluation Scales

[摘要] We read with great interest the review by Pisani et al¹ in this issue of CHEST. Situating the relief of dyspnea as a “goal of care” in critically ill patients or patients dying at the hospital, the authors detailed therapeutic options and provided a clear and comprehensive review of the evidences in this field. As for pain, evaluating and alleviating dyspnea have to become a standard of care. Although we share the conclusions of the authors, we would like to emphasize that the management of dyspnea would highly benefit from a feedback evaluation of the efficacy of the treatments initiated or escalated.
