Immortal Time Bias Can Occur in the Analysis of Dose-Dependent Effect of Statin
[摘要] We read with the greatest interest the work by Su et al1 in the September 2017 issue of CHEST, in which the authors used a nationwide database and reported that statin users were associated with lower risk of incident TB. They also demonstrated a strong dose-response effect of statin, in which statin users with high cumulative defined daily dose (>365) had lowest risk of TB (hazard ratio, 0.27) but no protective effect in participants with cumulative defined daily dose <180 (hazard ratio, 1.06).
