Bronchial Stenosis: Another “Rheumatoid” Pulmonary Manifestation
[摘要] Figures Figure 1 Patient’s imaging studies. A, CT of the thorax demonstrating segmental collapse of the middle lobe lateral segment and areas of mosaic attenuation consistent with small airway involvement (bronchiolitis). B, Bronchoscopic view of stenosis of the middle lobe lateral segment. We read with keen interest a recent review article on lung manifestations of rheumatic diseases by Doyle and Dellaripa1 published in a recent issue of CHEST (December 2017). We congratulate the authors for an elaborative review of existing literature on this important subject. Airway involvement in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) occurs predominantly in the form of small airway disease (bronchiolitis) and has been extensively described. Another uncommon manifestation is cricoarytenoid synovitis, which may present with hoarseness of voice.
