Frailty: Is This a New Vital Sign?
[摘要] Frailty is the accumulation of biological deficits and dysfunctions that occur with age and impairs homeostatic balance. Frailty is defined as a progressive age-related cumulative decline in many physiological systems during a lifetime, which confers extreme vulnerability to stressors and increases the risk of a range of negative health outcomes.1,2 It is progressive and often considered irreversible, although its progression can be slowed and its precursor, prefrailty, can be treated with a return to a state of robustness.
