Imaging End Points in COPD Clinical Trials: Are We There Yet?

[摘要] The burden of COPD on individuals and society is substantial, and projections indicating that this burden will continue to increase are alarming. COPD will soon be the third leading cause of death worldwide¹; the associated medical costs will increase and overwhelm health care systems.² Driving this burden is that existing COPD treatments are suboptimal, and the number of clinical trials to test new therapeutics for COPD are disproportionately small by comparison to other leading causes of death.
