Range extension of an exotic sailfin molly Poecilia latipinna (Lesueur, 1821) in Iran.

[摘要] The sailfin molly - Poecilia latipinna, has been previously reported from Zayandehrud and theTigris River basins in Iran. This report confirms the presence and establishment of the exotic sailfin mollyfrom a warm-water spring in Namak Lake basin. The sailfin molly was probably introduced to the regiondue to the ornamental aquarium trade, but it is now established in the natural water bodies of KashanCity in central Iran. To our knowledge, this is the first documented record of sailfin molly from the basin,which shows the range extension of the fish in Iran.
