Watering Memory Trees
[摘要] T he World Health Organization estimates that about 50 million people worldwide currently live with dementia, with almost 10 million new cases every year. The reason: increased longevity. In Denmark, the country where we live and work, life expectancy is 81.0 years; in the United States, where this article is published, 79.2 years. Since no known intervention can stop the brain deterioration causing the dementia, there is a growing emphasis on psychological and social interventions for managing the disease as people live longer.
