[摘要] Phanerozoic Brachiopod Genera of China,edited by RONG Jiayu (Editor-in-Chief) with thelate JIN Yugan (deceased 26 June 2006), SHENShuzhong and ZHAN Renbin as associate editors,was published in two volumes in December 2017.This excellent work has contributions from 24 authors:11 from the Nanjing Institute of Geologyand Palaeontology (NIGPAS) and 13 from 11 universitiesand other institutes, mostly within China.This beautifully produced book is the result of16 years of arduous work. It benefited greatlyfrom a wide range of expertise and many years ofresearch. It has 11 main chapters plus two usefulindexes, one listing genera alphabetically, theother lithostratigraphic names. Each chapter hasits own bibliography, taking up 76 pages of verysmall type, of carefully edited references, rangingfrom three for the introduction to 14 at the end ofa chapter on Permian brachiopod genera. The referencesare exhaustive and will be a useful sourceof information for decades to come.
