Prevalencia de traumatismos de incisivos en escolares de 6 a 12 años y factores de riesgo asociados. Ep "Miguel Figueroa García". Enero-marzo, 2013

[摘要] Introduction: The traumatic tooth lost have a big impact in the infants quality of life, especially incisors. The aim of the study was determinate prevalence of dental traumatic injury in 6 to 12 years old children of “Miguel Figueroa García” Elementary School and risk factors, between January to mars, 2013. Methods: A descriptive and transversal study was developed; 243 scholars with age between 6 to 12 and permanent dentition were studied. Frequencies and percentages were calculated, and the statistics relationship between variables using chi-square. It was 20,7% in scholar con digital suction habits, of 14,3% in patients with lingual push habits and 15,1% in incompetent lips closure. There was important association between overjet and dental trauma and a bigger proportion of traumatic injury in convex cross face. Conclusions: There was a low prevalence of incisor traumatic injury in scholar population. Digital suction, lingual push and overjet were related with incisor traumatic injury. There is no relationship between overbite and traumatisms. The higher frequency of incisors trauma belong to convex cross face.
