Pacientes con Trastornos Generalizados del Desarrollo en Odontología
[摘要] Generalized developmental disorders (PDD), also called Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), refer to a variety of associated cognitive and neurobehavioral disorders that occur in childhood development. They may include the following three traits: Impairment of socialization, impairment in verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as restrictive and repetitive patterns of behavior. There are 5 categories for Pervasive Developmental Disorders, which differ from one another according to the degree of affectation: Autistic Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, Childhood Disintegrative Disorder and Generalized Development Disorder Not Otherwise Specified or Autism atypical. They are not characterized by specific alterations at the oral level, these will depend, in large part, on hygiene, nutrition and habits on the part of the individual. One of the most relevant aspects with this type of patients is the presence of harmful habits related to the mouth, which are known to favor the establishment of malocclusions.
