Concept acquisition in geography of secondary school pupils
[摘要] This study investigated the causes of difficulty experiencedby Standard Nine Venda pupils in acquiring hierarchicalgeographical concepts. The study also focussed onintervention methods to assist pupils acquire concepts sothat they could be able to transfer them to othersituations. The literature was surveyed for backgroundinformation on the role of prior knowledge, the transfer forattained concepts, instructional organization in acquiringconcepts, and language and concept acquisition.
