Opportunities for effective diversity management in the motor industry.
[摘要] A product of the dynamic changes undergone by industryover the past number of years has been thediversification of the workforce. This is placing aformidable challenge before management, not only tomaintain, but under the new conditions ofglobalisation, to improve Levels of productivity. Thepurpose of this exploratory study was to establishwhat actions management of the motor industry couldtake to manage this diverse workforce in order toensure maximum productivity and motivation. Thefindings highlighted personal attributes of managersmanager integrity, communication, equality andas being of overriding importance. In particular,upgrading of employee skills were the mainrequirements. In order to address those behaviouralaspects, it is recognised that a fundamental change incorporate culture is required. In conclusion, and inline with the literature reviewed, to become effectivein diversity management, an organisation must beprepared to undergo a long-term transition.
