Diethyl sulfide modified silica and calix[4]pyrrole chelating resin: Synthesis and mercury(II) cation retention properties
[摘要] Diethylsulfidewaschemicallyimmobilizedonthesurfaceofsilicagel(0.2–0.5and0.06mm)fortheformationoftwonewlysynthesizedsilicagelphases(S1andS2).Anewchelatingresincontainingmeso-tetramethyl-tetrakis-(thiophene)calix[4]pyrrole,CP(I),wasalsosynthesizedviathecondensationofCP(I)withformaldehyde.Theselectionofthisreceptorisbasedonfundamentalstudies.Amongthecationsandanionsconsidered,CP(I)interactsonlywithmercury(II).Thefunctionalizedsilicasandthecalixpyrroleresinwerecharacterizedbyelementalanalysisandmassspectrometry.Thebatchremovalofmetalcations(Hg2+,Pb2+andCd2+)bythesematerialsfromaqueoussolutionswasinvestigated.Theuptakecapacitiesofthesilicabasedmaterials(S1andS2)andcalixpyrrolepolymers(R1)fortheHg2+cationweredetermined.TheHg(II)cationuptakedatahavebeenfoundtofitboth,theLangmuirandFreundlichisotherms,andthecoefficientsindicatedfavorableuptakeofthiscationbythesematerials.Parameterssuchasthekineticsoftheuptakeprocess,pH,temperature,silicaparticlesizeandmetal-ionconcentrationeffectswereevaluated.ThedataobtainedclearlyindicatethatS1hasthehigheruptakecapabilityandfasterretentionrateforHg(II)ionsrelativetoS2andR1.Inacolumnoperation,itwasobservedthattheHg2+cationwaseffectivelyremovedfromaqueoussolutionbythecalixpyrroleresin,R1.ThepercentageofrecoveryofthisresinfortheHg2+cationwasfoundtobehigherthan95%.Theresultsobtainedarecomparedwithpreviouslyreportedmaterialsformercuryremovalfromaqueoussolutions...
