Recent findings on the role of natural killer cells in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus
[摘要] Systemiclupuserythematosusisachronic,multifactorialautoimmunediseaseofcomplexetiology,characterizedbylossoftolerancetonuclearautoantigens,expansionofautoreactiveTandBcellclones,polyclonalBcellactivationthatgivesrisetohypergammaglobulinemia,andincreasedautoantibodyproduction,aswellasimmunecomplexdepositionandmultiorgantissueinflammation.Asdiseaseprogresses,immunecells,mainlyTcellsandmacrophages,infiltrateaffectedorgansandamplifythelocalinflammatoryresponse.Naturalkillercellsarelarge,granularlymphocytesthatareanimportantlinkbetweentheinnateandadaptiveimmunesystems;variationsintheiractivitycorrelatewithseveralautoimmunediseases.Todate,theliteraturehasdisregardednaturalkillercellsasrelevantmodulatorsinsystemiclupuserythematosuspathogenesis,asthesecellsarefewinnumberandshowadysfunctionalphenotypeinpatientswithactivesystemiclupuserythematosus.Thisreviewfocusesonresearchthatcouldhelpdefinetheroleofnaturalkillercellsinsystemiclupuserythematosusandtheirfunctioninregulatingthisautoimmunedisorderinnonlymphoidorgans...
