A two dimensional photoelastic study of stress and load distribution in a rock bit cutter

[摘要] A two dimensional photoelastic analysis was carried out on a rock bit cutter shell. The magnitude of the principle stresses in the cutter shell and the load distribution in the roller bearings was determined. Some conclusions of possible practical interest were drawn, and some suggestions made for future investigations.
