Generation of microwave ultrasonics with ferromagnetic thin film transducers
[摘要] Acoustic waves at 9.07 Gc have been generated in thin ferromagnetic films of nickel and monel. The phonon pulses are produced upon spin-wave or ferromagnetic resonance bya magnetostrictive coupling. Both transverse and longitudinal waves have been observed at several angles of magnetic field with respect to film surface. The acoustic spectrum has been studied as a function of magnetic field and compared with a spin-wave absorption spectrum also run on each film. The applicability of various surface pinning models to the results of the individual films is discussed. And the feasibility of this method of generation for use in other acoustic studies is examined and found favorable.
