Environmentally sensitive architecture: A process of integration

[摘要] This thesis is in search of formal solutions to an environmentally sensitive architecture. Two facets of this pursuit exist: the technical endeavor and the philosophical and cultural endeavor. I believe the means already exist to solve the technical problems of sustainability and low impact. Rather, it is the problem of cultural change that is more difficult to resolve. By creating spaces that can bring the user closer to her environment, the architect can be a catalyst in a oneness that existed in pre-technological societies. This integration between human and phenomenological surrounds, between myth and nature is fundamental to our protection of the natural world.
