Carbohydrate intake results in lower suppression of salivary immunoglobulin A in judokas
[摘要] The main role of salivary immunoglobulin A (S-IgA) is to protect the upper respiratory tract against colonization of pathogens and virus replication.1 Such protective effect appears to be dependent mainly on its amount and rate of secretion into the mucosa surface.2 Thus, it suggests that changes in the secretion of S-IgA can be a potential indicator for the exercise-mediated effects on mucosal protection.1
