Molecular characterization and phylogeny of Linguatulaserrata (Pentastomida: Linguatulidae) based on the nuclear 18S rDNA andmitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I gene
[摘要] Linguatula serrata, a cosmopolitan parasite, is commonly known as tongueworm belonging to the subclass Pentastomida. We collected the nymphal stage of the wormfrom mesenteric lymph nodes of cattle and identified these as L. serratabased on morphology and morphometry. The 18S rDNA sequences showed no intraspecificvariation, although cox1 sequences showed 99.7â99.9% homology. In thephylogenies inferred from both gene loci, members of the genus Linguatula(order Porocephalida) were closer to those of the order Cephalobaenida than to those ofPorocephalida, reflecting a mismatch with the corresponding morphology-based taxonomy.Accordingly, analyses of additional gene loci using a larger number of taxa across thePentastomida should be undertaken to determine an accurate phylogenetic position withinthe Arthropoda.
