Laboratory advances about human leptospirosis in Cuba, 1989-2016

[摘要] In Cuba humanleptospirosis is a condition of an endemic-epidemic, cyclic-seasonal nature.Technological advances introduced into the country have made it possible toexpand knowledge about the causal agent in Cuban provinces, carry out interventionsin the epidemic outbreaks which have occurred during years, and offer informationstrengthening the National Prevention and Control Program and the clinical assaysfor the Cuban vaccine vaxSPIRAL®. The paper summarizes aspects ofinterest related to laboratory surveillance, as well as the results of someof the studies conducted in the period 1989-2016.
