An investigation on the growth and reproductive performance of Poecilia reticulata Peters (Cyprinodontiformes: Cyprinidae) fed diets with dried insects

[摘要]  In the study, five feeds given to guppies (Poecilia reticulata) were evaluated for their effects on growth and reproductive performance of females. Feeds namely Diet I, II, III, IV and V formed flake food, blood worm, locust, rhino beetle and flour worm, respectively. Blood worm, locust, rhino beetle, flour worm were insects, and flake food was a commercial fish food. The growth and reproductive performance were investigated based on growth parameters, gonadal development and fry production.
