[摘要] Today dentists are beginning to use botulinum toxin in patients, its use presents great variability in this field, being applied to correct facial problems related to oral health, also contributing to the aesthetic, showing excellent results compared to other OBJECTIVE forms of treatment the purpose of this study consists of a literature review on the effectiveness of botulinum toxin applied to the dental clinical practice. CONCLUSION Botulinum toxin type A appears to be an alternative for cases of gummy smile muscular exclusively determined by a etiology hipercontraction highlighting the muscles of the upper lip, along with patient with bruxism.
