Autonomous video compression system for environmental monitoring
[摘要] Throughout the present work, series of exhaustive studies are realized with the purpose of determine which is the most suitable video compression codec for transmitting video recorded in a natural environment where a colour is predominant above the rest. This has been done starting from scratch by analyzing a video for obtaining its RGB level. After that, a study about the network parameters resulted from the fact of having the transcoded video stored in a server waiting for a RTP client request has been realized. Lately, a decision algorithm has been designed and it establishes, according to the results obtained in the previous researches, the most suitable video compression codec. Finally, a Python program has been implemented. It automatizes the process of video recording, RGB predominant level calculation and, depending on the previous results, transcoding for obtaining the final transcoded video file.
