[摘要] This article reviews the current characteristics of science and technology libraries and librarians.I analyze the concept that science and technology libraries as physical spaces where to find information is giving in to the development of new activities and services.The impact that Information Age and Information and Communication Technologies have on libraries and librarians is described by presenting examples of new services:bibliometrics, leadership of digital libraries and institutional repositories, advice and collaboration in self-archiving observing different methods of publishing and licensing.
