Biotecnología microbiana aplicada a la minería

[摘要] Biohydrometallurgy is known as a microbial treatment, which allows the recovery of high value metals from sulphide minerals. It is a technology that has attracted attention in the last two decades from the point of view of both, scientific studies and technological applications. This technology involves the participation of acidophilic microorganisms, capable of iron and sulfur oxidation. It is one of the few microbiology-based technologies that has become industrially successfully in processing low-grade ores.In the present work we will summarize and analyze how this technology emerged, their progress, industrial applications, and future prospects.
