The snowpatch as relief habitat for woodland caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou Gmelin) at Macmillan Pass, N.W.T. Open Access

[摘要] Masters (M.Sc.) thesis. Woodland caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou Gmelin) have been observed to congregate on permanent snowpatches during the summer-fly season at Macmillan Pass, NWT. Thesis proposes that the snowpatch is selected as a ;;relief habitat;;, due to reduced mosquito harassment and behavioural thermoregulation in response to heat stress.
