Law 20.780 - Law reform implementing tax on emissions

[摘要] Article 8 of the Law 20.780 imposes a tax on emissions of particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and carbon dioxide (CO2) released by facilities with stationary sources comprising boilers or turbines with a total rated thermal power level of 50 MWt or more, calculated from the upper limit of the fuel’s energy content. In Spanish: El Art. 8 de la Ley 20.780 establece un impuesto que grava las emisiones al aire de material particulado (MP), óxidos de nitrógeno (NOx), dióxido de azufre (SO2) y dióxido de carbono (CO2), producidas por establecimientos cuyas fuentes fijas conformadas por calderas o turbinas, individualmente o en su conjunto, suman una potencia térmica igual o mayor a 50 MWt (megavatios térmicos)
