Emission Compensation Obligation for Importers of Fossil Motor Fuels

[摘要] Until 2012, the Climate Cent served to buy carbon credits (CDM etc) from abroad to fulfill the Swiss Kyoto targets. From 2013, the voluntary Climate Cent will be replaced by a legal obligation on oil importers to offset directly a part of the CO2 emissions from transport fuel use. The offset will be financed by a levy that shall not exceed CHF 0.05 per litre of fuel.
