Condensation of a dialectic vapor in the presence of a non-uniform electric field

[摘要] Several different electrode configurations have a voltage applied to them. The region between the electrodes is assumed to be free of charges. The differential equation for these configurations, Laplace;;s equation, is solved in each case either analytically or with an I.B.M. 70140 computer using finite difference techniques. These results are then used to find the available body forces along a flat plate placed between the electrodes. The results are non-dimensionalized and an attempt is made to determine the possible value of each configuration in condensing heat transfer.
