Version 2.0 Visual Sample Plan (VSP): Models and Code Verification.

[摘要] Visual Sample Plan (VSP) is a software tool under development at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) with support from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). VSP is used to select the right number and location of environmental samples in order to achieve various sampling objectives with required performance. Version 2.0 of VSP provides formulas and statistical algorithms to compute the number of samples needed for specific statistical tests, estimations, an, evaluations appropriate for the following environmental sampling goals: comparing an average or proportion to a fixed threshold value; comparing an average or proportion to a reference area average or proportion; constructing a confidence interval on a mean; estimating a mean or a proportion within specified cost and variance; constraints; locating a hot spot; and finding a UXO target area (not yet peer-reviewed).
