Design of a new central module for the Modular Total Absorption Spectrometer

[摘要] The design and expected performance of the new Central module for the Modular Total Absorption Spectrometer is discussed. Small losses (approximate to 1%) in efficiency and small increase (approximate to 10%) of the FWHM are expected due to the introduced dead layers for optical separation between segments. This however should not be significant for the future measurements, while the advantages of the increased segmentation should yield improved information about low energy gamma transitions.
