Detection of piRNA-54265 in human serum: evidence and significance
[摘要] An increasing number of studies have shown that PIWIinteracting RNAs (piRNAs) are aberrantly expressed inmany types of human cancer and involved in regulatingthe malignant progression, piRNAs would be expected toserve as molecular biomarkers for cancer screening andearly diagnosis.In a previous study, we have identified the presence ofpiRNA-54265 in human serum [1]. Further research hasdemonstrated that it is a promising and specific bloodmolecular marker for colorectal cancer (CRC) [2]. In thesestudies, we have developed a stem-loop primer reversetranscription-quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) approach todetermine the piRNA-54265 levels, which included thereverse transcription of piRNA-54265 to cDNA using astem-loop primer and the quantitative detection of cDNAby PCR with the primers and probe specific for piR-54265.
