Cardiac magnetic resonance-derived tissue tracking strain in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
[摘要] We read with great interest the study by Chen et al. (1).Recent developments in tissue tracking cardiac magneticresonance (CMR) have enabled the quantitative assessmentof myocardial strain based on three parameters: globalradial strain (GRS), global circumferential strain (GCS),and global longitudinal strain (GLS). In addition, strainrate imaging can assess myocardial deformation during thecardiac cycle, including GRS, GCS, and GLS rates. Chenet al. demonstrated that the GCS rate was an independentpredictor of the primary endpoint (1). Reportedly, CMRderived strain parameters are associated with outcomesin hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients. However, different results were observed in these studies. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to evaluate thesignificant differences in CMR strain parameters betweenHCM patients with and without adverse events. We alsoinvestigated the hazard ratio (HR) of CMR-derived strainparameters reported in previous studies. HR is the ratioof the chance of an event occurring in patients with HCMwith impaired strain and the chance of an event occurringin patients with HCM with preserved strain.
