Co(II) coordination polymer: Treatment activity on vulvovaginal candidiasis by inhibiting the growth of the Candida albicans : Bioactivity study of Co(II) coordination polymer

[摘要] By the reaction between Co(NO 3 ) 2 ·6H 2 O and 4-(bis(4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)amino)benzoic acid (Hbpba), a triphenylamine-functionalized ligand in CH 3 CN and N , N -dimethylformamide (DMF) mixed solvent under the solvothermal conditions, a new coordination polymer (CP) containing Co(II) has been successfully prepared, and its chemical formula is [Co(bpba)(NO 3 )] ( 1 ). The colony-forming unit (CFU) numbers of the Candida albicans after the compound treatment was measured with diluted micro-plates assay. In addition to this, the inflammatory cytokines released into the vaginal discharge was determined with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection kit. Both pyridine and carboxyl groups have the capabilities to provide polar atoms for interacting with the active sites on target protein, however, results from molecular docking showed that only carboxyl group exhibited activity.
